Visit Symonds Yat, distinguished by east or west, Symonds Yat villages straddle opposing banks of the Wye. The best way to reach one from the other is by the hand-pulled ferry. They’ve been doing it that way for hundreds of years. Famed for its natural river scenery and wooded expanses, Symonds Yat Rock is a limestone outcrop rising some 500 feet rising from the banks of the River Wye. The river winds its way around the outcrop through a deeply wooded gorge. Yat Rock is one of the best known view points in the Wye Valley and the Forest of Dean.
The Malvern Hills are officially designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and are a famous beauty spot with scenic views over both English counties of Herfordshire and Worcestershire. Here you will find plenty of opportunity for walking and hiking.
