We have some ideal breaks for lovers to choose from — with motorhome touring holidays in the UK and Europe. It’s worth remembering that these breaks are not just for Valentine’s Day though. Spending quality time away with your loved one/ones at any time of the year does the heart good.

Relaxing UK Breaks

There are a number of places you can enjoy with your loved one as part of a motorhome holiday in the UK.

Beth Rawlins, Motorhome Travel Agency Manager, gives her top recommendations for some blissful getaways for couples below:

“London is one place I’d definitely recommend for a romantic break and while you’re there make sure you tie in a trip to Primrose Hill. It’s 78 feet tall and can be found on the North side of Regents Park. And boasts the most incredible view of London’s skyline while you enjoy the peaceful surroundings. From there you could easily walk down to Regents Canal and visit Little Venice and look at the colourful houseboats.”

“If it’s the countryside you’re after then a particular favourite of mine is the Lake District.  For example you could visit the jetty at Lake Windermere. On a nice day it’s an extremely romantic location, best enjoyed at sunrise or sunset. The Lake District as a whole is truly beautiful.”

“Cornwall is another favourite and while you’re why not take a trip to St Nectan’s Glen. Here you will find a waterfall and for a small admission charge. However, you can enjoy a peaceful walk up to the waterfall. You can stroll along next to the river and through the woods.”

“And don’t forget the Cotswolds! The area has many beautiful places to explore, including Copse Hill Road in Lower Slaughter voted to be the most romantic street in Britain in 2011. This is well worth a romantic stroll with your significant other.”

And if you want to go further afield then Europe has many gems for you to fall in love with…

Romantic Getaways in Europe

“Personally, I don’t think there is any comparison to the Dutch capital, Amsterdam, when it comes to romance.” says Beth. “Amsterdam has been made even more synonymous with romance after ‘The Fault in Our Stars’ film.”

“Vienna is a charming city with imperial architecture! You can enjoy a ride in a horse carriage, a night at the opera and trips to various royal attractions.

“And Venice is synonymous with romantic appeal and the lure of a romantic ride on a gondola around fantastic surroundings, is always going to be a favourite get away destination for couples.

“Barcelona is Spain’s most popular tourist destination and it’s easy to see why — it has amazing architecture, incredible restaurants, interesting history and wonderful sunsets, which are ideal for creating that warm and fuzzy factor…
