If you have time you can visit the Faubourg-d’Amines Cemetery. This is a memorial to 35,000 British, New Zealander and South African soldiers that have no known grave. It commemorates the people that fought in the battle of Arras in WWI. The following day you will arrive at the beautiful Lake Lucerne. While you are there you should visit the Transport Museum and Chapel Bridge. This is the world’s oldest surviving truss bridge. You can enjoy the surrounding beauty on one of the many sightseeing cruises. You can travel to the top of the 2,128m high Mount Pilatus. Known in folklore as ‘’Dragon Mountain’. On your tour, you will ride the world’s steepest cogwheel railway with a max gradient of 48%!
You will spend a day ascending 1,898m to the summit of the Stanserhorn via a ride in the open top cable car to the top. On a clear day, the panoramas are outstanding and you will be able to see as far as Alsace and the Black Forest of Germany. If you need a rest whilst on top of the Stanserhorn, there is a restaurant, sun terrace and observation deck.
You will enjoy a ride on the Glacier Express and explore Grindelwald. You will also visit Lauterbrunnen Stechelberg valley of waterfalls. After your time in the Alps you will visit Berne where you can visit the Berne Old Town. This is a UNESCO world heritage site. You will visit Lake Geneva with its famous Jet d’Eau which shoots 500l of water per second to a height of 140m at 120mph. We recommend a trip to the cheese factory in Gruyere. Finally, you will visit Martigny, Sion, Zermatt and Stuttgart.
