A Tour of Wales
If you love hearty food, a distinct culture, the outdoors, cosy pubs, fascinating traditions and breathtaking scenery then Wales is for you.
The green rolling hills and atmospheric scenery of Wales have inspired many. The landscape is wild, rich and beautiful with plenty to explore. There are the pristine lakes and rivers, the mountains to climb, such as Snowdon, the world-class beaches and the coastal paths. Then there are the Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty, of which Wales has five, the 74 nature reserves and the three national parks. That Wales has all this and is still a relatively small country will give you some indication of how richly green and scenic it is.
Anglesey- absolutely stunning! Quiet roads, beautiful scenery and beaches. A must see. Very much like an uncrowded Cornwall.
Snowdonia- Snowdonia is the name given to the mountainous area in the county of Gwynedd in Wales, a region boasting 14 peaks over 3,000 feet, including Snowdon itself (3,560 feet). As well as being the largest National Park in Wales, Snowdonia boasts the highest mountain in England and Wales, and the largest natural lake in Wales, as well as a wealth of picturesque villages like Betws y Coed and Beddgelert. Snowdonia is an area steeped in culture and local history, where more than half its population speak Welsh.
Pembrokeshire- Rated by National Geographic magazine experts as the second-best coastline in the World. With 186 miles of magnificent and varied coastline and over 50 beaches, there’s plenty of space for everyone. Choose between lively Tenby and Saundersfoot or peaceful St Davids and Newport. Perfect for outdoor activities or just relaxing.
Brecon Beacons- With two National Trails and a National Park, this is fabulous walking and thinking country. In its charming, lively market towns, outdoorsy types rub along with writers and artists and the mood is gently alternative and modestly intellectual.
