Devon is a stunning county of great contrasts, with two beautiful coastlines, two National Parks and five official Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
Dartmouth & Glorious Devon
Dartmouth is a beautiful town, the way it tumbles down the hill, with the Britannia Royal Naval College overlooking the harbour, is gorgeous. Walking around the narrow streets, with staircases up to different levels, puts you in another world. It feels untouched by time, which is very appealing.
There’s so much to visit and do: family attractions, historic buildings, award-winning places to eat, thrilling outdoor activities, and exciting events happening all year round.
For beaches, Devon can’t be beaten. Wild and windswept bays with stunning views, sandy family-friendly beaches and tiny pebbled coves. This is in total contrast to the glorious green countryside in abundance, rolling hills and craggy moorland.
For family days out, Devon offers Woodlands Family Theme Park, a fun filled family day out for everyone. From little children to adults there’s something for anyone and everyone! With one of the largest and best indoor play areas in the South West, amazing water rides, a zoo farm and much more, there’s fun to be had rain or shine. There is a campsite there too.
Devon is also home to Paignton Zoo, which houses over 2000 animals across eighty acres, it is one of Devon’s most exciting visitor attractions. If golf is your passion you will enjoy visiting Dartmouth Golf & Country Club, a beautiful course in a stunning location, the spa is lovely there too if that’s your preference.
