Enjoy some wonderful places on your travels through Bavaria, each location boasts the Austrian Alps as a backdrop. Stunning scenery and a holiday that can be as active or relaxing as you choose.
Bavaria & Austrian Alps
Munich – As well as the many beautiful sights and museums in the city, it also makes the perfect base for exploring southern Germany and its many Alpine lakes. Whether you just want to relax with some locally brewed beer, or hear up-and-coming musicians at a festival, Munich has something for everyone.
Salzburg – Salzburg is famous for being the birthplace of the famous composer Mozart. Because of this, Salzburg has become somewhat of a mecca for classical music and you can feel Mozart’s influence all around the city. The streets are alive with beautiful live music and there are talented musicians around every corner.
Fieberbrunn – The wonderful Pillersee valley and its lake with lido makes active holidays amidst water and mountains possible. Only in the valley there are 400 km of trails and cycling paths, inviting you to experience the landscape, especially the Kitzbühel Alps, in an active manner.
Lienz – A popular destination with its medieval style town centre and the amazing surrounding landscape of the Alps and Hohe Tauern National Park.
Innsbruck – Peace and Quiet. Although the capital city of Vienna is a must-visit destination when exploring Austria, around the peak months it becomes rammed with tourists. Innsbruck is the perfect place to visit if you want peace and tranquility, or a city break without the chaos.
Fussen – One of the first things you should do when you visit Fussen is wander the streets of the Old Town. … The typical Bavarian architecture and cobblestoned streets gives the town an old world charm (the town is 700 years old, so that might explain it!)
